edun LIVE is a new line of organic t-shirts from EDUN, the socially conscious clothing company launched in 2005 by Ali Hewson and her husband, Bono.
edun LIVE's mission is to drive sustainable employment in sub-Saharan Africa through high-volume sales of its t-shirts. The company uses organic materials whenever possible, and constantly offers encouragement and support to farmers and other partners in the local communities to transition from conventional to organic production.
What makes the company's process unique is that from the African sourced cotton all the way to the manufacturer, edun LIVE's t-shirts are 100% African or "grower to sewer" African. Resulting in a product that possesses superior quality and style and whose production provides sustainable business and trade opportunities for these emerging communities.
It is edun LIVE's hope that others will replicate their business model and grow the trade and employment opportunities available in these impoverished regions.
