The holiday season was approaching and a retail shoe company was looking for a promotion idea that could be used as a customer thank you gift, and in turn help increase business.  The company chose a shoeshine kit featuring its logo.

DISTRIBUTION:

The kit was handed out with each shoe purchase.

OUTCOME:

The customers really appreciated the gift and had a lasting reminder of the store.

OBJECTIVE:

Promote New Makeup Line

OVERVIEW:

A popular teen magazine and a nationwide pharmacy chain joined forces to promote a new makeup line.  They wanted to find a promotional product that would allow them to reach their target audience, teenage girls over the age of 15.  The two companies decided to use hot pink and black striped compact mirrors.  Signs posted in the pharmacy encouraged girls to buy the makeup, send in the receipt, and then they would receive the mirror. 

DISTRIBUTION:

Sent to customers who mailed in a makeup receipt.

OUTCOME:

To date, more than 5,000 receipts have been redeemed, and both companies have experienced a surge in sales due to the promotion.

CUSTOMER: Citizen's Voting Organization
OBJECTIVE: Encourage Women to Register and Vote
OVERVIEW:

Leading up to a presidential election, a citizens’ organization wanted to make women nationwide aware of their voting responsibilities.  The organization created the “Adopt-a-Salon” campaign, which recruited volunteers to provide salons of their choice with a pro-voting display.  The display included a large countertop sign encouraging women to vote on November 2, as well as promotional mini manicure sets containing products such as a nail files, cuticle scissors, nail clipper and a cuticle pusher imprinted with the slogan “Don’t let this election be a nail-biter,” and, of course, voter registration forms.

DISTRIBUTION:

Handed out to salon clients.

OUTCOME:

Over 2,000 salons, including 300 Body Shop franchises, participated in the campaign and gave very positive feedback.

OBJECTIVE: Tradeshow Giveaway
OVERVIEW:

A travel agency had an exhibit at a trade show and wanted to give visitors to the booth a gift.  The agency chose a travel sewing kit imprinted with the copany logo and contact information. 

DISTRIBUTION:

Handed out to tradeshow booth visitors.

OUTCOME:

Increased booth traffic through word of mouth about the giveaway.
