OVERVIEW:

A bank wanted to open 3000 student checking accounts at the beginning of the school year and thus aimed its promotion, themed “Curfew has just been lifted,” at 9,500 incoming freshman students at a local university.  Literature was handed out both on campus and via direct mail, and all new customers received a colorful themed memo board upon opening an account.

OUTCOME: Despite facing increased competition, the bank reported to have in fact exceeded its goal, with student checking account deposits totaling over $5 million.
