A software corporation wanted to increase its sales of a small hand-held computing device in seven national retail chains. Many promotional products were used at all of the links in the supply chain to accomplish the goal and to get representatives, retailers, and customers involved. One of the favorites was a backpack with the corporation’s logo on it.
The backpacks were distributed to all of the company’s representatives at an informational seminar and designed to hold imprinted notepads and pens and other necessities during on-site demonstrations in retail stores.
During the six-week period of the promotion, thousands of promotional items like the backpacks were involved in over 65,000 on-site demonstrations of the product. Overall, the corporation was very pleased with the 10,000 product sales made.
