Senior Production Artist

Qualifications:

• THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY-LEVEL JOB!!!
• 2-4 years of fast-paced agency or similar experience is absolutely required (freelancing, school projects and internships don’t count…if this is all you’ve ever done, please do not apply.)
• Extensive knowledge and experience working with Adobe Illustrator to create and modify vector-based files is required.
• Extensive knowledge and experience creating and preparing files for spot color printing is required
• PC/Windows proficient
• Adept at E-mail and Internet usage and management
• Comfortable using basic functions of other graphic arts software such as Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, etc.
• Basic knowledge of or experience with screen printing, pad printing, and commercial embroidery processes is a plus.

Stuff You’ll Have to Do

• Evaluate client-supplied logos and files for printing on various promotional products
• Work with our sales team to prepare artwork according to their clients’ expectations
• Help the sales team understand technical artwork mumbo-jumbo from time to time
• Hook up with our production department to answer questions about artwork status
• Prep and send art out for printing (basic stuff, no heavy pre-press skills will come into play)
• Answer questions from our printing facilities if they arise

Stuff You Probably Won’t Have to Do

• Heavy designing. This job involves preparing corporate logos, simple designs and typesetting for a variety of printing processes. It is highly technical. Some actual design projects may be available from time to time, but it is not the bulk of the day-to-day work.
• Work long hours regularly; while there may be peak periods where additional hours are required, we are firm believers in quality of life and that we should all “work to live” and not vice versa. Average work week is 40-45 hours.
• Wear a suit, tie, khakis, or anything else that you don’t want to wear. You will also not be required to remove any piercings or cover your tattoos, unless they’re really embarrassing, in which case we will insist on viewing them.
• Skydiving. We have a “no skydiving in the office” policy (for obvious reasons.)

Start Date:
Late January/early February

Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.  Most workweeks are 40-45 hours.
