OVERVIEW
This job features a variety of conventional, routine responsibilities (invoicing, electronic deposits, online credit card processing, collection calls, answering phones, mail, organizing, address list management, working in Excel etc.) performed in a fun, fast-paced culture with very predictable work hours.
This bookkeeping-focused position is a good fit for anyone whose main focus is not extensive career growth but rather someone comfortable performing recurring tasks within a predictable work schedule. The job would be a good career fit for someone "returning to work" after a career hiatus or someone juggling other interests outside of work.

An understanding of accounting and business management principles is necessary to achieve longstanding success in this role. Since these traits take time to acquire, you should have 4+ years in an accounting support role to be considered for this position.
Other CRITICAL qualifications to being successful in this role: Great organizational skills, the ability to work efficiently and prioritize well, super strong PC skills – especially with Outlook and Excel, self-motivation, ability to work independently, strong initiative and follow-up skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The job responsibilities for this position fall into 4 main areas:
- Accounts receivable work including invoicing clients, managing receivables via past due statements, e-mails and phone calls, managing open order reports, making bank deposits and processing credit card payments
- General office support including answering phones, light filing opening and distributing mail, light shipping and receiving, office supplies and general office clean up
- Sales team and management support including the ordering of samples, preparing PowerPoint slides for company meetings, management of sales spreadsheets
- Marketing team support including address list management (Intermediate Excel experience required), project fulfillment, mailing assembly, website updating (no prior experience required)
What is not part of the job?
- Travel; with the very rare exception of attending an out of town tradeshow or visiting a key client; all of your work will be done from our Chicago offices. No trips to O’Hare, no cab rides, no flight delays, no sleeping in strange beds.
- Long hours; while there will be peak periods where additional hours are required, we are firm believers in quality of life and that we should all “work to live” and not vice versa.

Key Experience:
4+ years in an accounting support role. The inclusion of other office and sales support experience is a huge plus.
Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Most workweeks are 40 hours. If you work efficiently, you will very rarely (5%) work more than a 40-hour week. This schedule provides you with a very even work-life balance.
Compensation:
Base salary + Quarterly Performance Incentive Plan + Benefits
