Staff Picks: Stacie’s Top 5 Favorite Promotional Products

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Stacie Long, our Operations Manager extraordinaire, shares her top 5 favorite promotional products of all time:

Hawk 3 Business Card Book Light Nylon Folding Tote Uni-Ball® 207 PREMIER Gel Pen Rubik's® 9-Panel Full Stock Cube

  1. Hawk 3 Business Card Book Light
This is the best book light EVER for reading at night. There are a few of these floating around in my house.
  2. Nylon Folding Tote
I have 3 of these folded up in the bottom of my purse at all times. I never have to use plastic shopping bags from the store!
  3. Uni-Ball® 207 PREMIER Gel Pen
The jelly grip is super-squishy (I’ve never seen another grip even half as comfortable) and it writes really smooth. I have a secret stash of them in my drawer that no one else is allowed to touch.
  4. Squeeze-A-Tube
Someone in my house keeps squeezing the toothpaste tube in the middle. This little gadget helps me keep my sanity.
  5. Rubik’s® 9-Panel Full Stock Cube
Yeah, I’m a geek. I think everyone should solve a cube at least once in their life…and I’ll be happy to teach you how.

I’m a big fan of utilitarian promotional gifts – what’s the point of giving them away if they won’t be used? All of the products in my Top 5 are ones that I actually own and use daily (except the Rubik’s cube, I don’t have time to play with it as often as I’d like.) When choosing your next business gift or giveaway, think about the people who will be receiving it. Who are they? What do they like? What do they do for a living? There, you will find clues to choosing a product that they will appreciate…and remember you each time they use.

Our Spirit of St. Louis Collection is a really swell group of promotional gifts with a weathered, antique look and spiffy retro styling. Items in this collection include:

  • Analog Clock Thermometer – Designed to resemble old-time cockpit guages, this two-in-one gift is perfect for aviation lovers.

  • Field Alarm Clock – This vintage style alarm clock includes an intricate mini poster decorating the interior lid.
  • Journal – Promote a travel writing workshop with this book-bound journal.
  • Roller Ball Pen and Twist Pens
  • Suitcase Alarm Clock – The playful design and artwork on this clock make it an ideal choice for frequent flyers. Use it to generate buzz with a new product or service launch.
  • Venturer Wallet – Give travelers peace of mind by allowing them to keep all their essentials in one easy-to-carry wallet.

In this video, Mitch shows how this collection can be used as part of a sales incentive program.

Top 5 Healthcare Promotional Products

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

Whether you’re marketing to health care professionals, patients, or trying to promote better health in your workplace, these 5 items are sure to grab attention.

  1. Syringe Pen
Perfect for hospitals, pharmaceutical and insurance companies and more! Distribute by crouching behind potential recipients and whispering “Gonna get you…” while holding out the product.  It’s a promotion they’ll never forget! Or you could use just leave behind the pens on sales calls and hand them out at career fairs or open houses.
  2. Heart Rate Watch Chestbelt
The built-in timer keeps you on schedule and continuously measures your heart rate while exercising. A great fitness promotion for any company. If you can get people to wear these before you sneak up behind them with the syringe pen, it would make a fun youtube video.
  3. Doctor Stress Ball
Your choice of a chick or dude doctor. I wish we had kid doctor shapes, but Doogie Howser references tend to fall flat nowadays.
  4. Citrus Instant Hand Cleaner Spray
This new citrus instant hand sanitizer is a must have! The great scent combined with the hand cleaning liquid is great for anyone on the go! One simple spray will kill 99% of the germs that are plotting against you.
  5. Compressed T-Shirts
Add impact to the run-of-the-mill t shirt by compressing it into a unique shape! The shirts are shrink-wrapped with a custom insert card that can be used to direct VIP’s to your website or highlight a new product or service offering.

Hello world!

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

(tap, tap)…is this thing on? ummm…Hello, everyone, and welcome to the inaugural post of the official Printable Promotions blog! We’re really glad that you all were able to make it here.

So let’s get started. Everyone, raise your hand if you’ve ever received a promotional product…you know, a t-shirt, bag, coffee mug, or pen printed with a logo or slogan that a company or organization gave you. Good, good, it looks like almost all of you have.

OK, now, who knows WHY companies spent over $18.8 billion on promotional products last year. Yes, you in the back, go ahead…Brand Awareness? Good answer. Let’s keep going. Generate new business? Yes. Business gifts? Right again. Motivate employees? Yes, all good reasons.

Promotional products are a proven tool to help companies meet their objectives, plain and simple. When you’re given a physical item with a logo on it, you’re reminded each time you use it of the company that gave it to you.

But how do you know what product your company should be using? There are hundreds of thousands of options to choose from, but which one is right for YOUR project?

Well, friends, that is why we have all gathered here today. In this blog, we’re going to help you learn about the different kinds of promotional products, what’s hot in the marketplace, and most importantly, how to use them effectively!

Ok now, let’s take a little break, get some coffee, and meet back here when you’re ready to get started.
