Success Story – Innovative puzzle wins Calendar Marketing Association awards

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

A custom-made jigsaw puzzle, featuring the work of internationally known calendar artist Pilliard Dickle and commissioned by the Brunswick-Golden Isles CVB, has received four Gold Awards from the Calendar Marketing Association, a trade group for the calendar industry.

The puzzle was part of a promotional package developed by the CVB to market Brunswick and The Golden Isles as a destination of choice for tours, meetings and individual travel. Three versions of the puzzle were printed; each version featured an original Pilliard Dickle calendar on the front, and one of three targeted messages on the back, for tour operators, meeting planners or travel writers.

The puzzles were produced  by Printable Promotions.

Free headbands featuring the “Purple Goes Green” slogan were given to all students at the games.

In addition to the in-game competition, environmental facts and tips for conserving energy and water were projected on the television screens in the arena for fans and students to read.

Our donated promotional backpacks are helping children in Haiti go to school

Monday, October 5th, 2009

We received this email from Hannah, the Haiti coordinator at The Children’s Place.  She goes back and forth at least once a month to Haiti and takes all the great things, including money, that are donated.

I just wanted to send you a few pictures from my last trip of handing out the backpacks you donated. Everyone was just thrilled! It was so much fun to go around and hand them out. All of the parents asked me to send their thanks as well. Mesi anpil, as they would say in Creole! Enjoy the photos.

The Children’s Place Association is a safe haven for children and families whose lives have been devastated by disease and poverty. Since 1991, the agency has reached out to HIV/AIDS-affected children and families through services such as: residential care with 24-hour nursing, specialized day care, summer camp, mental health counseling and foster care/adoption. None of these services would be possible without the generous support of our many valued friends and donors in the community.

Influence your customers’ purchasing decisions with promotional products

Friday, February 6th, 2009

In June and July of 2008, a team of interviewers surveyed 465 businesspeople in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Philadelphia on behalf of ASI regarding promotional products they had received. The purpose of the interviews was to understand how advertising specialties influence end-users’ purchasing decisions; determine the number of impressions of popular advertising specialties; and analyze the Cost Per Impression (CPI) of advertising specialties compared with other popular advertising media.

Further, during October 2008, an online panel survey was conducted among recipients of advertising specialties to augment the non-wearables sample from the in-person interviews. Results have been combined in the report where appropriate. There were 213 completed Web based interviews, for a total of 618 completed surveys for this study.

Respondents were asked if they had received any promotional products in the last 12 months. Most respondents were business/professional people (84%) and all were age 21 or older.

Summary of Conclusions:
  • Instant recall:
More than 8 out of 10 (84%) respondents remembered the advertisers of the promotional products they’re received.
  • Very impressionable:
42% of respondents had a MORE favorable impression of an advertiser after receiving the item. And nearly a quarter (24%) said they are MORE likely to do business with the advertiser on the items they receive.
  • It’s all business:
Most respondents (62%) have done business with the advertiser on a promotional product after receiving the item.
  • Pens are in:
Writing instruments are the most-recalled advertising specialty items (54% of respondents recall owning them), followed by shirts, caps and bags.
  • User-friendly:
The majority (81%) of promotional products were kept because they were considered useful.
  • Staying power:
More than three-quarters of respondents have had their items for more than 6 months.
  • Bag it!:
Among wearables, bags were reported to be used most frequently with respondents indicating that they used their bags an average of 9 times per month. They also deliver the most impressions: Each bag averages 1,038 impressions per month.
  • Most impressive:
The average CPI of an advertising specialty item is $0.004; as a result, marketers get a more favorable return on investment from advertising specialties than nearly any other popular advertising media.

A New Year = New Challenges

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

For an organization to reach its ‘09 goals, the promotional marketing team needs to be even smarter than last year. So here are a few questions to ask yourself:

  1. Have you considered whether last year’s successes will work this year or if you need a fresh approach?
  2. Is it time to target audiences you haven’t approached in the past?
  3. Do you need to more frequently show your appreciation of those who have supported you in the past?

The Printable Promotions team is accustomed to helping companies of all types and sizes with a wide range of budgets.
